Merchandiser Job Duties:
Merchandisers work with buyers at store level building displays, stocking, putting up Point Of Sale materials & are the front line point of communication between customers & sales representatives. Career oriented individuals advance into Sales, Point Of Sale, Draft Department & Supervisory positions.
Sales/stocking experience preferred; physically able to lift and/or move 50-70 pounds on a repetitive basis; good verbal skills; work with a variety of personalities.
Draft Tech Job Duties:
This position will work with “on premise” accounts (bars, restaurants, cocktail lounges, bowling alleys, etc.) to maximize draft beer product freshness & consumer satisfaction of K & L brands. Job duties include cleaning & maintaining draft beer dispensing systems; maintaining an adequate account inventory of necessary materials to complete account calls; keeping the draft area, van & draft cleaning & maintenance kits well organized, clean & safe; “on call” response ability for accounts if system issues arise; accountability for equipment at special events & loaners; some installation & system upgrade work.
A good working knowledge of draft beer systems is preferred but not required; however, applicants must possess mechanical aptitude & ability. Good people skills; ability to lift 50 lbs.; valid drivers license & good driving record.
Sales Relief Job Duties:
This sales position does not have a scheduled route but instead fills in as needed for salespeople on vacation or otherwise absent. Job duties include presentation of product programs & new products to retail; understanding of price book with the ability to suggest buying strategies for retailers; maintenance of route cards to ensure product rotation & accurate order; follow-up merchandising at specific accounts while monitoring merchandising at all accounts; execution of monthly targets while monitoring overall brand sales for assigned accounts; quarterly Pro Sell account visits to record dates & rotate product.
Ability to frequently lift 65 lbs.; strong communication, time management & decision-making skills; ability to work well with a variety of personalities; ability to organize & pre-plan; knowledge of the alcohol industry in Alaska required; flexible work schedule; must have own vehicle, which must be reliable & have capacity to carry up to 5 cases of product; must be able to work independently with minimum direction; must have own cell phone. Some in-state travel may be required from time to time.
